GRADE 11 LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
We invite schools leader learners to the annual Northern Cape Youth Leaders’ Conference, which is presented in December by the University of Stellenbosch and Duin in die Weg here at Duin in die Weg.
The conferences of the past few years have been very successful and we want to build on it, in the interest of our youth. It is a practical course, consisting of a variety of discussions, workshops and outdoor activities – under the guidance and mentorship of leading business and academic leaders.
The aim is not to replace our High Schools’ own leadership programs. It is complementary to equipping newly elected young school leaders for the realities and challenges of leadership in the school environment and later in their lives.
AIM OF THE CONFERENCE
The aim of the Conference is to establish, on an annual basis, a forum in the Northern Cape, where young designated youth leaders from the Northern Cape High Schools can be prepared and trained in the following important aspects:
– Understanding the need for excellent leadership;
– The discovery of their own leadership potential;
– Understand that leadership is not only a naturally limited talent, but that it is a skill that can also be developed and deepen over time; and
– Development of skills to serve as respected and effective leaders.
A generous sponsorship enables schools to submit their nominations for free! We will be able to cover two nominations with the sponsorship, but possibly up to a maximum of four learners.
SPEAKERS AND MENTORS
Participants are privileged to receive excellent training and mentorship from experienced and influential leaders in SA.
A MUST FOR EVERY YOUNG LEADER!
This is truly a top opportunity for both schools and their leader learners, and therefore it will be great to host as many leaders as possible here.
