GRADE 8 – ORIENTATION CAMP
COME AND GET PIECE OF MIND FOR THE NEW YEAR
We want to create an opportunity for new learners in grade 8 to get to know one another and understand their new environment. Sunshine, socializing, new experiences… wonderful memories… lots of new friends… and great fun !!
– Date: January (3 days)
– Place: Duin in die Weg Guest Farm & Education Centre
PURPOSE OF THE CAMP
The opportunity for register teachers to meet and interact with their class. Through the program we can facilitate a faster and stronger bonding opportunity over a short space of time. The program and the camp facilities allow for teachers and facilitators to monitor behaviour, interaction & activities to ensure a safe and respectful engagement.
We do not want to replace the schools’ own Orientation programmes. It is complementary to preparing new Grade 6 learners, along with learners from other schools, for the realities and challenges in the new school environment and life.
A MUST FOR GRADE 6 – LEARNERS!
We believe that attending the camp will really benefit the new learners, and therefore we request schools to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We undertake that a school’s group will spend sufficient time with each other as a group, but that there will also be enough interaction with other schools’ learners.
The camp fees include: comfortable accommodation; delicious meals; relevant topics, canoeing on the Orange River, hiking, fishing, tractor ride, games, etc.…
The program will be finalized later. Get smart and street-wise about: Adjustments into high school, peer pressure; social media; healthy relationships; choices and temptations; friends & parties; concerns and the academic part of things.
Please visit our website for other useful events and information – as well as an online registration form. The final program and other important information will be provided closer to the time.
